The performance of the same brake pad at different temperatures, different speeds, and different braking pressures is very good. - Braking performance
- refers to the braking capacity (friction coefficient) of the brake pads under normal braking conditions (that is, when the braking temperature is relatively low). The friction coefficient of the brake pads is not as high as possible, but to balance the overall performance to meet the design requirements of the vehicle.
- Wear
- refers to the wear of the brake pads during use. The braking effect depends on the formula and technology of the friction material. For example, carbon fiber brake pads can be used for hundreds of thousands of kilometers without replacement. In addition to the wear of the brake pads itself, the wear of the brake discs must also be considered. In the braking process, high-quality brake pads will generate a protective film on the friction surface of the brake disc to reduce the wear of the brake disc. Inferior brake pads contain a lot of hard spots and impurities, which will pull out many grooves on the surface of the brake disc. Accelerate the wear of brake pads and brake discs.
- Recession performance
- In road conditions such as downhill mountain roads, the brakes are continuously braked, and the temperature rises rapidly, and the brake disc may reach a high temperature of more than four, five hundred, or even seven hundred degrees Celsius. The braking capacity of the brake pads will deteriorate and the braking distance will increase. This phenomenon is called "recession", and we certainly hope that the lower the recession rate, the better. The decline rate of high-quality brake pads is very small, and some do not even decline; while some shoddy products decline seriously, and almost lose their braking ability at high temperatures.
- Recovery performance
