Several Molding Processes for Rubber Products:

  1. compression molding
  • Commonly used molding methods to manufacture certain rubber products with complicated shapes such as cups and seals, and the rubber materials are placed in the mold by means of the formed female and male molds to be heated and formed.
  1. injection molding
  • For more complex rubber products, such as tire tread, hose, wire surface coating, it needs to be manufactured by injection molding.
  • It is a method of putting a certain plasticity into a hopper of an extruder under the extrusion of a screw through a variety of mouth shapes, also called a template.
  • Before the extrusion, the rubber must be preheated to make the rubber soft and easy to extrude to obtain a rubber product with smooth surface and accurate size.
  1.  calendering
  • It is suitable for the manufacture of simple sheet and plate products. It is a method of pressing a rubber compound into a film having a certain thickness and a width by a calender, which is called calender molding.
  • Some rubber products such as tires, tapes, hoses, etc. must be coated with a thin layer of glue. The glue is also applied to the fibers, which is also called glue or rubber. The glue coating process is generally completed on the calender.
  • The fiber material needs to be dried and dipped and dried before calendering, in order to reduce the water content of the fiber material, so as to avoid evaporation of water and foaming, and to increase the temperature of the fiber material to ensure the quality of the calendering process.
  • Dipping is a necessary process before the glue is applied to improve the bonding properties of the fiber material and the rubber compound.

 

Automotive Hose Type Summary:

  1. air conditioning hose
  • In the past two years, China's automotive air-conditioning hoses have developed rapidly, and enterprises that produce and develop new types of hoses have gradually increased. The development of high-quality air-conditioning hoses needs to solve two technical problems, firstly the pollution problem of air-conditioning hoses, followed by the leakage of fluorine-free hoses.   • The high-grade EPDM rubber is used as the main material of the radiator hose. The special synthetic fiber knit reinforcement structure is selected, and the first cold feed extrusion technology and the coreless preform molding blank vulcanization process are successfully used. The automobile radiator hose with technical indexes such as breaking strength, ozone resistance and adhesion strength meets international standards.
  1.  fuel hose
  • The inner rubber layer is composed of fluororubber and chlorohydrin rubber, and the outer rubber layer is chlorohydrin rubber, except that the reinforcing layer is made of aramid fiber. According to relevant reports, domestically produced composite fuel hoses for automobiles have been used in Santana, Audi, Jetta, Beverly, POL0 and other vehicles.
  1. brake hose
  • Brake hoses are important parts of the car that are very strict in quality and are relevant to the safety of the vehicle and the person. In addition to the brake fluid resistance, the brake hose must have good aging resistance and moisture permeability.
  1.  power steering hose
  • Power steering hose is a stricter requirement in automotive hoses. There are two specific requirements. One is good heat resistance and the other is to prevent corrosion of oil substances. This has caused some contradictions. The steering rubber tube using fluororubber has good heat resistance, but since the fluororubber tube easily reacts with certain additives in the oil, the application is limited. Therefore, many car lovers often have strict requirements on the steering hose of the car.
  1. turbocharger hose
  • Turbocharger hose is mainly used in racing cars and sports cars. In recent years, due to the needs of consumers, it has begun to develop into ordinary cars. China's turbocharger hoses are still in the research and development stage, and the development momentum is good.
