Rubber Material Information:
Rubber: A highly elastic polymer material with reversible deformation. It is elastic at room temperature, and can produce large deformation under the action of a small external force, and can be restored to its original state after removing the external force. Rubber is a completely amorphous polymer. Its glass transition temperature is low and its molecular weight is often very large, more than hundreds of thousands.
Natural rubber is made by solidifying and drying the latex that flows out when the trifoliate rubber tree is tapped. The molecular chain of rubber can be cross-linked. When the cross-linked rubber is deformed by external force, it has the ability of rapid recovery, and has good physical and mechanical properties and chemical stability. Rubber is the basic raw material of the rubber industry, and is widely used in the manufacture of tires, hoses, tapes, cables and other different rubber products.
The performance of rubber and its classification
(1) Its performance is to have high elasticity. An object can be deformed by applying an external force. As soon as the external force is lost, it returns to its original state—this is the obvious manifestation of elastic deformation. Rubber, which is very valuable and highly elastic, is not available in other engineering materials.
(2) Some mechanical strength, with the ability to mitigate impact and absorb vibration.
(3) Good performance such as resistance to wear, insulation, imperviousness and impermeability.
(4) Some special synthetic rubbers also have the characteristics of oil resistance, corrosion resistance, heat resistance, cold resistance, flame resistance, aging resistance and radiation resistance.
Rubber is divided into natural rubber and synthetic rubber according to raw materials. According to the application, it is divided into general rubber and special rubber. The types of rubber commonly used in automobiles include natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, neoprene, nitrile rubber, EPDM, acrylic rubber, fluororubber, silicone rubber, polyurethane rubber and butyl rubber.
